The god of the harvest, or the reaper. Wow! How could this god be confused with Jesus? Better yet, is this a similarity?

The god of the harvest

Yeah Yeah, I know Christmas is actually a great time to share the gospel. Well for copyright purposes, I can only share this link, which covers the historicity of Christmas, and the excuses people make to celebrate a Pagan Holy Day. http://www.rapidnet.com/~jbeard/bdm/Psychology/xmas/celeb.htm

I do not understand why pastors keep trying to FORCE the issue of putting Jesus back into Christmas when he was NEVER in it in the first place. If I as a pastor had to make a compromise, understanding that some of the congregation will do as they please, it would be to properly educate them on what Christmas is really about, let them know that it won’t be embraced here at this church on these grounds. BUT NO, Pastors must push Jesus into this Pagan Holiday, instead of celebrating it just like it was when he was born. Many Pastors are afraid to buck tradition for the sake of membership. IF PAUL CAN PRESENT AN UNKOWN PAGAN GOD, AS JESUS, WHY CAN’T PASTORS PRESENT, WHAT TO MANY WOULD BE UNKNOWN GODS SUCH AS SATURN, SHOWING THEM WHAT CHRISTMAS IS REALLY ABOUT?????????????????????????

I HONESTLY BELIEVE THAT JESUS NEVER NEVER EVER WAS THE CENTERPIECE OF CHRISTMAS, AND THAT IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE WORSHIP OF PAGAN GODS AND EMBRACING OF MAKE BELIEVE FIGURES WE SEE TODAY. Saint Nick, Santa Claus, the elves, flying reindeer, snowmen, abominable snowmen, bumbles, etc.

Bless God! I’m so glad that more and more true Believers are taking this stand. Jeremiah 10 so describes the Christmas tree, yet many say “but Christ wasn’t born yet when Jeremiah 10 was written” totally ignoring the whole point that Christmas was birthed out of a pagan practice that had previously been practiced by pagans and condemned by God.

  2. How many people actually take this time of year to present the gospel to strangers? I feel safe in saying that less than 1% of those who push Jesus as the reason for the season, go out into the malls and streets to witness Christ.

Well, although I do not shove the religion of Merry Christmas down people’s throats, I will go out into the highways and the hedges (malls and stores) this year. I did something greater than going to church this year. Others and myself went to downtown Raleigh, NC and shared the gospel, while more than 99% of believers brought in the New year at church, went to eat, and went home.

Watch Night service is turning into another religion.

Minister Hatchett can you do a post on the origin of all the HOlidays we celebrate paganism in error. Churches ought to be ashamed, but they too are blind. I certainly would like a leg to stand on when I talk to people as to why they should not partake in Halloween events and other such holidays. Thanks
