Wow, I just read all of these, and I have to say that this made me want to drink fake grape juice, become a Muslim, and start wearing a toga on a daily basis. P.S. If all these Greeks are going to hell, then hell’s definately gonna be a party and the fun place to be! An eternity of warm weather, jungle juice, and greek people? Can’t think of anything better!

I will also like to add…..

The “cross”. Many Christians wear the cross and have them in their homes. They are also going against God’s word because that is still an idol. God does not say wear something in remembrance to me. All you need is his word.

The Presidents of the United States takes an oath and so do other political officials. As well as any greek organization, why all the focus on black greek

Do you pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States? If so, you are going against God’s word (That is paying homage to your country and a flag)<—worldly

We can go on and on about what God disapproves of and bring in scriptures to back them up.

The main thing I am trying to say is one sin isn't bigger than the next. WE ARE ALL SINNERS! NO ONE IS PERFECT! Therefore, if one is in a greek organization, it makes him no different than a person who is non greek, yet they are sinning by shacking, lyings, stealing, gossiping, etc….etc…

We all have to give an account for OUR sins.. GOD has the final judgment and to be honest, NO ONE IS TRULY LIVING UP TO WHAT GOD INTENDED..THEREFORE, NO ONE SHOULD TRY AND PUT THEMSELVES ON A PEDESTAL AS IF THEY ARE HOLIER THAN THE NEXT. MOST ARE DOING THE BEST THAT THEY CAN WITH WHAT THEY GET FROM THE BIBLE AND WHAT THEY HEARSAY FROM CHURCH.

WHICH IS WHY GOD JUDGES ONES HEART BECAUSE REMEMBER WE ARE NOT JUDGED BASED ON OUR WORK… However, remember our work does show action, which also shows our heart to some extent.

Thanks for trying to put the word out, but this seems like bashing to me. Especially since ANYONE can take bible principles and apply it to ANYTHING….

Not sure what happen to my previous comment,…… but I stated that people who celebrate the man made worldly holidays, such as Christmas (Jesus wasn’t born in December and this date goes back to worshiping of the sun God) , Easter (humage to the fertility God, that is why easter bunnies and eggs are prevalent…hmmm nothing to do with Christ resurrection) However, some of the same people who are bashing Greek about paying humage to other God’s are doing the same thing with these hoildays, unless you don’t participate in them.

Oh yea, lest not forget birthdays… all of these things I mentioned above has pagan roots,

so what makes any of “non greek or someone who has denounced Greek, any different from those we did take the oath to their sorority or fraternity…..

Just because Christians have tried to make these holidays good and related to God, doesn’t mean its right as well…..

Things that make you go hmmmmm…… so remember we are all sinners…one sin isn’t bigger than the next…we all are guilty of not serving God the way he intended us too… Many things we do in this world is based on traditions of men and many of them have a pagan upbringing.

so if you are denouncing Greek my Christian friends, please through away all your man made symbols for God and stop celebrating the man made worldly holidays and stop with the traditions of men PERIOD, because you too sinning against GOD…..

@ Nicole I agree with you a 100% and I crossed over as an Alpha almost 19 years ago but when the Holy Spirit starting dealing with me about denouncing Alpha, He started also dealing with me about the holidays as well and I don’t believe God will deal with you in one area and not deal with you in other areas that needs to be dealt with. You are right when you study and research a lot of what we call holidays you will see that they are no different than some of the gods of the fraternities and sororities

Nominal Christians are those who waste time trying to rank sinfulness in light of “one sin being bigger than the next.”

Yes, of course Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s Day and Halloween are all pagan holidays popularized by the Catholic Church with no foundation in Scripture. But what does this have to do with the issue of Bible believing Christians taking oaths into secret societies when the Bible clearly forbids it (Matthew 5:33-37)?

Understand that sin is sin, and that all sin separates us from our holy God. Not understanding this, first and foremost, illustrates a lack of understanding about God’s holy nature.

Secondly, there is not one single scripture in God’s Word that gives us an example or even a hint of authority or approval for followers of Christ to take an oath into a pagan secret society. Furthermore, willfully taking sacred oaths into a secret society binds one to Satan’s kingdom of darkness, the kingdom that governs ALL secret societies. Rest assured that God’s Kingdom has nothing to do with anything secret, for in the Bible secrecy equates to darkness.

Regarding the oath taking, be encouraged to study Hebrews 6:13 “For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself.”

What God is teaching us in this scripture is that oath taking requires mere man to swear on someone or something greater than himself in order to authenticate the oath. This is necessary because man is NOT sovereign (but God is), therefore man cannot guarantee that he/she will be here in two minutes because our lives are but vapors (James 4:14).

But the real dilemma for the Christian is that oath taking by swearing on the name of God is using God’s name in vain (empty). On the other hand, oath taking by swearing on the name of someone else or something else is idolatry, an abomination according to the Bible. That is why every court in the land and even every military branch allows Christians who take these oaths to say instead, “I affirm” which removes the sacredness from the oath. Secret societies do not accept,
“I affirm” because saying so does not incite a sacredness, and therefore does not tie one’s soul to Satan. But SWEARING or PLEGING into a secret society does tie one’s soul in covenant with Satan and his kingdom. Period! Remember that sinful pride and rebellion turned an angel into the devil, Satan.

As far as the lies that GLO’s are Christian – the devil is a liar! These groups bow down directly or indirectly to Greek, Egyptian or Roman false gods or goddesses through the very words of their sacred rituals and oaths. (Do not deny it for all the rituals and chants have been exposed – Ephesians 5:11). In reality, engaging these false gods is idolatry, which the Bible calls an abomination. If the Israelites suffered God’s wrath for any connection they had to false gods and goddesses, why oh dear Christian are you so arrogantly deceived as to believe that our holy God will somehow excuse you and receive you into Heaven before His holy presence while you are still connected by a sacred oath to fake gods and goddesses like Horus, Osiris, Isis, Minerva, Maat, Anubis, Horus, Sphinx of Giza, Nephertiti, Apollo, Bastet or Centaur? Research any of these and you will learn that that are FALSE GODS AND GODDESSES! Recognize this is your red flag!

A final question for Christians only – if Jesus were here today, would HE pledge? Hear Christ’s alarm; receive HIS warning!

I promise you my dear Christian brothers and sisters, these secret oaths are your passports to hell unless you REPENT, RENOUNCE AND DENOUNCE them in Jesus’ name.

I pray that you will pray and ask the Holy Spirit to speak GOD’S TRUTH to your heart.

Taking a Stand Unto His Name!

I’M A CHRISTIAN AND A LOT OF THINGS IN THIS WORLD, IS PANGAN SO IF SORORITIES ARE BAD. RESEARCH ALL THINGS IN THIS WORLD . THE DAYS OF THE WEEKS ARE NAME AFTER PANGAN gods. The holidays all of them are named after false gods. I’m not for the divine 9 but to each it own. Jesus came not to condemn the world but threw him the world will have life.in the end it your decision you are for God are against God. U make the choice. For as me I’m for God can’t nobody do me like Jesus.

    Pastor

Yes, you are correct. Many things in this world are absolutely pagan … that is one of the reasons the Bible instructs Christians that we are in the world, not of it … for we are citizens of Heaven (Philippian 3:20). Jesus said He was not of this world (John 8:23, John 15:19). The Apostle Paul also teaches that we are not to be conformed to this world (Romans 12:2). Therefore, we need to take on the values of Jesus – holiness, purity, love, righteousness – so that we can have His life of abundance.

But of the many, many pagan constructs in this world like the names of the calendar months, or the planets in the galaxy, etc., yes they are just a reality of THIS world. Christians cannot change or avoid these constructs, which will remain until the end of this age. We use them in order to communicate day to day with others in THIS world. We do not conform to them in the sense of adapting to what these paganisms represent, for we are in the world, not of it.

But a Christian willfully taking a sacred oath into a secret society IS absolutely conforming to this world and IS adapting to the sexual ritualistic practices, chants, oaths, pagan traditions and false deities of secret societies, which are enemies of the Cross of Jesus Christ! Know that Christians who have taken an oath into a secret society is a Spiritual Adulterer, and is therefore a backslider in the eyes of God.

For the true child of God, there is no such thing as, “to each his own,” for the Bible lets us know, “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

Repent while you still can! Our GOD is merciful!

I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them. They shall be turned back, They shall be greatly ashamed, Who trust in carved images, Who say to the molded images, ‘ You are our gods.’
    (Isaiah 42:16-17)

In response to Nicole, Birthdays and things like Christmas do not use or bear the names of Pagan gods, unlike GLO’s. So I would be more apt to say that Christians would be ignorant about the birthday/Christ Mass issues. But when organizations paint pretty pictures of pagan gods and goddesses, even the new believer should wonder, “what God is this”. And I submit that the next time you present information of this nature, as a good believer, provide examples of your point, such as the fact that the only two birthday celebrations we find in scripture are for Pharaoh and King Herod, or that even those who wrote books of the Bible curse the day of their births.

If we claim to know better, we should inform better, and that’s advice, not criticism. For the last sentence itself came from self criticism of my own responses.

I’m an AKA and your response to my soror about our oaths and some goddess???? are inaccurate. I also find that BGLO’s do a lot more than most churches to actually serve the community and reach out beyond the sanctuary. It’s all well and good to jump up and down and sing songs of “praise,” quite another to feed the hungry, help the poor, build homes for the homeless and supplement the failing education system by mentoring to our children.

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32).

How about Themis, the Greek (false) goddess of justice named in the AKA’s Ivy Beyond the Wall Ceremony? Another false deity is the AKA Coat of Arms, Atlas, who represents the organization’s strength. Atlas is the Greek titan (false) god and bearer of the heavens and of strength who (allegedly) carried the world on his shoulders. “God holds the Earth on Nothing” (Job 26:7).

AKA’s love Nefertiti. Yet Nefertiti, and her husband, Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten, both worshiped Aten, the sun disc. Nefertiti might have been known for her beauty on earth, but in Heaven she is absolutely repulsive and putrid before a holy God. Oh, and all the frogs … these are unclean animals according to Revelations 16:13, not to mention they were the second plague of Egypt (Exodus 8).

A Christian kneeling while being instructed, “May you always remember that you are not only joining with individuals, but you are uniting with THE Alpha Kappa Alpha” is unbiblical, unholy and blasphemous for those who call themselves a child of God.

A Christian pledging, “To thee, oh Alpha Kappa Alpha, we pledge our heart, our minds, our strength. To foster thy teachings, obey thy laws, and make thee supreme in service to all mankind, Oh Alpha Kappa Alpha, we greet thee” is unbiblical, unholy and blasphemous for those who call themselves a child of God.

A Christian taking an oath to “come under the shield” meaning that you put your soror first goes contrary to God’s word for only GOD is the believer’s shield (Psalm 18:2), and Jesus tells believers in Matthew 12:50 that a believer’s true sister is she who does the will of the Father. These secret oaths are unbiblical, unholy and blasphemous for those who call themselves a child of God.

A Christian proclaiming, “Oh, Alpha Kappa Alpha, we dedicate our hearts to greater love of thee” is unbiblical, unholy and blasphemous for those who call themselves a child of God.

There is no doubt that BGLO’s do a whole lot in the community … but that is not the Christian’s Commission. We are to lift the name of Jesus and watch Him draw man unto Himself. We are to proclaim the Gospel and make disciples for Christ … not secret societies. The real reason BGLO’s do so much in the community is they have bought the lie that salvation, the reward of Heaven, can be gained by man’s good works. The truth is that that believers do not work for salvation, we work because we are saved.

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32).

What is accurate is that AKA’s oath is ungodly and two Pagan gods are engraved in its ritual.

You may want to rephrase this. What the 1 million+ black greeks do pales in comparison to what True Christianity does. And you confirm what I have always said, and that is BGLO’s do nothing for the real issues of the black community, because they are moral. Since BGLO’s have no moral spine, they avoid issues of abortion, fornication, HIV, etc. Oh yeah, and the church does fine with the others as well, but why make a spectacle out of it as BGLO’s do.

I never heard the connection to the 33rd degree of Freemasonry. It’s what the Ques call Betty Crocker. None of the founders were known to have been 33rd degree masons. There is plenty in the fraternity’s ritual to expose. But are you Born Again???? That’s what’s important.

“Judge not, that you be not judged.” Matt. 7:1 / Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven. Luke 6:37./ Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?

I found this site by accident. It seems that some people here want to judge sororities & fraternities without much real knowledge. Many of the organizations are Christianity-based. Those I am knowledgeable about ask for loyalty, but not exclusive of your faith, family, etc. Most Greek members have many friends that are not in a Greek organization. It would be better for your to look for the good around you than to sound so spiteful and judgmental. A bad example of Christianity for others.

John 7:24- Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

I am not going to judge my brother or sister, but I can judge an organization. If they feel a little squirmy about that, then I am not at work in their conscience.
